DTI Tutoring Fact
Tutoring is a short term process intended to help a student "catch-up" in necessary skills or missing information in the primary academic areas. It should never be used as a long term solution.
Tutoring will be handled with the experience of a highly trained, licensed educational therapist who specializies in learning processes. If they see an underlying issue that is making the process of learning more difficult than it should be for a student, they will inform the DTI office who will then offer recommendations regarding those concerns. This may include a referral for formalized diagnostic evaluation by a licensed psychologist to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in their learning profile. There is no obligation to act on these recommendations, however.
